The Governing Body of Sandwich Technology School wishes to consult on proposed changes to the school's admission arrangements for the 2019/2020 academic year. The consultation will take place for six weeks between Wednesday 6 December 2017 and Tuesday 16 January 2018 inclusive.
The change that the Governors are proposing is to the Published Admission Number (PAN) for our Sixth Form. For some time, our Admissions Policy has anticipated an intake of 240 students (both internal and external candidates) of which 75 has been our PAN for students admitted to the school for the first time. This PAN was aspirational and determined at a time when it was anticipated that the Sixth Form cohort would grow significantly. The revised PAN that is being proposed takes account of actual roll numbers in recent years and a detailed analysis of the courses and facilities that the school is able to offer. The Sixth Form has not historically been over-subscribed and we do not anticipate that students will be disadvantaged by this amendment to our Policy. It is not our intention that this change to our Admissions Policy will, in real terms, result in a reduction in the size of our Sixth Form.
Please find attached a copy of the proposed Admissions Policy for 2019/2020.
If you would like to comment on this proposed amendment then please do so either by email to email@example.com or by post to The Chair of Governors, Sandwich Technology School, Deal Road, Sandwich, Kent CT13 0FA. All comments received by the end of Tuesday 16 January 2018 will be considered by the Governing Body at a meeting that is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 17 January 2018.
