Community Governor

Vice Chair of the Governing Body

Member of the Strategy Group

Member of the Resources Team

Designated Responsible Officer

I have one child who attends Sandwich Technology School and was very pleased to be appointed as a Community Governor following a term of office as a Parent Governor. I feel privileged to be a member of the Governing Body.

I work for Kent County Council within the Internal Audit Team, I am a specialist in fraud prevention and detection but now work as a principal auditor.  This exposes me to a number of financial risks that face schools and I hope this insight, together with my knowledge of auditing, will assist the school.  I have been involved with the school for over four years and during this time I have been made to feel very welcome by all that are involved with STS.  I want to ensure that the school has all the resources it needs to educate our children and young adults to the highest possible standard.

I am the Vice Chair and Responsible Officer for the Governing Body and sit on the Resources Team. The Responsible Officer position provides an internal audit function on the school’s finances and provides the Full Governing Body with an independent view on how the school’s finances are operating.

Outside of work and this role I enjoy being a dad to my teenage children, am a keen gardener and enjoy the beautiful countryside that surrounds the Sandwich area, especially tree tunnels!
