Online Safety

The video below - Where's Klaus? - shows the importance of parents knowing what their child is accessing through the internet. This video has been agreed by CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) as suitable for YouTube:

The following film - Kayleigh's Love Story - is about schoolgirl Kayleigh Haywood, who was murdered in 2015 by a man she had chatted with on Facebook. After the film was released by Police and shown to thousands of school pupils, 35 children came forward, fearing that they had been groomed online. Deputy Chief Constable Roger Bannister of Leicestershire Police said that the Force was "pleased that some good is coming from the awful tragedy" adding that the film was raising "far greater awareness of the dangers of online grooming".

Please be aware that the film would carry a '15' rating:

'Thinkuknow' is an education programme from the National Crime Agency’s CEOP Command. Since 2006, Thinkuknow has been keeping children and young people safe by providing education about sexual abuse and sexual exploitation.

Thinkuknow is underpinned by the latest intelligence about child sex offending from CEOP Command and aims to ensure that everyone has access to this practical information – children, young people, their parents and carers and the professionals who work with them.
