Returning Teachers Training

Returning Teachers Training

Are you a qualified teacher and interested in bringing your skills back to the classroom?

Do you know a qualified teacher that has left the profession and may be interested in returning?

Our school is part of a group of schools that are delivering the new support programme to help qualified teachers return to the profession. If you, or someone you know, would like to return to a career teaching mathematics, biology, physics,Chemistry, English, computer science, languages, history or geography we can deliver tailored support and identify individual needs to enable a successful return to teaching. This could include:

  • subject knowledge training
  • training to update knowledge of classroom practice, behaviour management, assessment frameworks and other current education initiatives
  • access to classroom experience and
  • support from a mentor

We have opportunities starting from April and we would be very interested to hear from anyone who is thinking of returning to teaching. We are looking for people who have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), who can teach EBacc subjects, and want to bring their skills back to the classroom, where they can make a real difference to young people every day.

The support packages involve a mixture of twilight session and in school training days. We are holding an Information Evening on Tuesday 8th March at 6pm. If you are interested please register by contacting louise.mugford@sandwich-tech.kent.sch.uk or calling 01304-610039.

If you have any queries about the programme please contact Assistant Headteacher Lucy Curling on 01304-610103 or  lucy.curling@sandwich-tech.kent.sch.uk

For further information on returning to teaching, you can also visit.www.education.gov.uk/returners.

We look forward to hearing from you.
