Welcome to Sandwich Technology School, a school on a rapid and exciting improvement journey.

There has never been a better time to join our school community. As part of the Barton Court Academy Trust, we are entering a new chapter that will bring additional expertise, opportunity and ambition for every child. Our vision is clear: to create a school where high academic standards, exceptional pastoral care and strong values combine to enable every pupil to thrive.

We understand that families must have confidence in those that are responsible for their child's education. It’s why we are so proud that our Trust has a proven track record of transforming schools and improving outcomes for young people. The journey ahead for Sandwich Technology School is one we know well.

We previously led the improvement journey at The Charles Dickens School in Broadstairs along with other senior colleagues. Once facing significant challenges of its own (it was in Special Measures in 2019), the school has undergone a remarkable transformation and is now recognised as one of the highest-performing and most oversubscribed non-selective secondary schools in Kent. That experience has shown us that with high expectations, excellent teaching, strong pastoral care and a relentless focus on improvement, exceptional outcomes are possible for every young person.

We are already seeing positive change across the school. Expectations are rising, standards are improving and a culture of ambition is taking shape. We are building a school where pupils feel safe, supported and inspired to achieve their very best, both inside and outside the classroom.
