On Wednesday our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students enjoyed a visit from some Royal Navy caterers.

Not only did the students learn about the various catering careers available in the Navy, they competed in teams in a timed cooking session making lasagne and sticky toffee pudding with advice, guidance and assistance from the 2 officers.

The winners were crowned based on taste, presentation and teamwork skills.  The students really enjoyed the session describing it as “very helpful and encouraging” as well as commenting that they “really enjoyed the ingredients.”

Mrs Rooke our Careers advisor added "It’s always great for students to relate their subjects to the working world and broaden their horizons about the careers out there, as well as hone their skills for their subject."

Their food tasted as delicious as it looked!
