Sports Day 2023!

Well what a day we had!

There were some absolutely sterling results and achievement from the athletes who took part in sports day on Tuesday.

A highlights was watching Will Turner in year 8 making a new school record in the 300m race! and seeing the athletes enjoying the introduction of the Hurdles, which allowed new skills to be tested by our keen athletes.

Now for the results...

The overall results of Sports Day 2023 – Tuesday 11th July are:

Year 7 college results – 1st – Liberty  271 points

Year 8 college results – 1st – Liberty  277 points

Year 9 college results – 1st – Endeavour  229 points

Year 10 college results – 1st – Endeavour  332 points

So it really was neck and neck, but the final place and the overall winner of Sports Day was...

1st position – Liberty College 1142 points

2nd position – Endeavour College 1097 points

3rd Position – Discovery College 886 points

4th position – Union College 760 points

We also awarded trophies to our best Junior Athletes (year 8) and Senior Athletes (year 10). These are selected because of their amazing achievements throughout the day, the following students were chosen;

Junior Girl – Maddie Long 

Junior Boy – Will turner 

Senior Girl – Kaiden Welling

Senior Boy – Jake Manning 

To sum up the day!

“The weather held out, windy but fun, things being thrown and lots of races run.

The participants did us proud as they always do and in the afternoon the whole school came out and loved it too.

A school record was broken, and also a new event this year, which excited the spectators and all you heard was cheers!”
