The Year 13 students at Sandwich Technology have done incredibly well.  This is the first time this cohort have sat full exams (their GCSE exams were subject to Covid methodology) and they have risen to the challenge magnificently.  We are delighted that the students of 2023 have matched the excellent results achieved by the 2019 cohort and have actually improved attainment in several curriculum areas. Subjects with higher grades in 2023 include English Literature, Biology, History, Geography, Art, Photography, Textiles, Media Studies and Sociology.

Mrs Savage, Headteacher, said “It must be remembered, that this group of students have also had their education disrupted over recent years – yet they are the first cohort where no allowances have been made for that and they have been expected to perform as though there has not been an issue.  I am very proud of them.”  She added “I must also mention the teachers, who have worked so hard to make sure that the students were ready to face this challenge head on”.

Approximately 80% of the students who applied for Higher Education have been accepted for their first choice of University, and 100% have been made a firm offer.

Betsy Lou Kirk achieved A, A, B in Sociology, Criminology and Psychology is going to Study Psychology at Southampton University.  Dylan Goode achieved A, Distinction, B in Finance, Business and Geography and is going to study Accounting and Finance at Manchester Metropolitan University, and his twin brother, Elliott who also did well is going to study History at Sussex University.   Grace Ashmore achieved B, B, B in History, English and Sociology and will be studying History at Canterbury Christ Church University.  Ryan Laker achieved A, Distinction and C in Media, ICT and Art and will be studying Film and Media at the University of Kent.  Bethany Bailey achieved B, B and Merit in Geography, Sociology and Business Studies and will be studying Geography at Southampton University.
